Microchipping Dogs | £7.50
This is a legal requirement for puppies from 8 weeks of age.
We microchip pups using Animal Microchips. Microchipping a dog is a quick and simple procedure. The chip is inserted under a dog’s skin, usually around the scruff of the neck, using a needle.
It takes seconds. Dogs can be checked for a microchip using a handheld electronic device, called a scanner.
You must make sure that your dog is registered on one of the following databases (they all meet government standards):
- Animal Microchips
- Animal Tracker
- Chipworks
- Identibase
- MicroChip Central
- MicroDogID
- MyPet
- National Veterinary Data Service
- Pet Chip Register
- Pet Identity UK
- Petlog
- PetScanner
- ProtectedPet
- SmartTrace
- UK PETtrac MicroChip Database
You can be fined up to £500 if your dog is registered on a database that is not on the list.
